Ears of Texas, PA is the practice of Dr. Wesley Krueger. Dr. Krueger has practiced medicine and surgery in San Antonio for more than 20 years. He is first board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and secondly board certified in the subspecialty of Neurotology.

Dr. Krueger specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the ear and skull base in adults and children, which comprises all disorders of the hearing, vestibular (balance), and related skull base / brainstem structures. He has expertise using innovative techniques, lasers, and various middle ear prostheses in the treatment of chronic ear disease and otosclerosis. He also has had extensive experience in acoustic tumor surgery and vestibular nerve surgery for control of vertigo.

Dr Krueger has had a special interest in patients with balance disorders, athletes with concuss ional injuries, and athletes who want balance performance enhancement. He has received two grants from the National Institute of Health, (NIH) using patented technology, to continue his research on control of motion sickness and balance disorders. He also continues research in the improvement of inner ear and visual reflexes for athletic enhancement.

Dr. Krueger has delivered satisfying results for many thousands of patients. He was selected by his peers as one of the best Neurotologists in America, and is listed in Best Doctors in America. He has also been recognized as a Super Doctor in the State of Texas by his peers in the Texas Monthly magazine.

Background

Dr. Krueger completed his medical school training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He then completed a surgical internship; a general surgical residency for a year then completed his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Hermann Hospital and M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. He also served as a surgical research project investigator, in Head and Neck Surgery, while at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. Dr. Krueger then moved to Los Angeles, California, where he completed his subspecialty training in Neurotology / Skull Base Surgery at the House Ear Clinic and House Ear Institute.

After moving to San Antonio, he performed the first cochlear implants on adults and children in South Texas. He performed the first surgical procedure with an implantable hearing aid in South Texas. Dr. Krueger helped to establish Universal Newborn Hearing Screening in Bexar County and in the State of Texas. He has had numerous publications in his peer reviewed journals, served on many editorial panels of his specialty journals, and has been the course director or instructor for numerous surgical courses related to his specialty. He has had an academic appointment as a clinical associate professor at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, has been on numerous professional committees, and has served as a consultant for several schools, universities, and institutes. He is the founder and president of the Ear Foundation of Texas, a non-profit organization.
